Web3 is the vision of an internet where users own their data, identity and assets through blockchain-based wallets rather than platform accounts.

Web1 was read-only pages; Web2 brought interactive platforms that own your data and monetise it. Web3 proposes that your wallet is your login and your assets travel with you between applications. It is an umbrella term covering DeFi, NFTs, DAOs and decentralised identity.
